A water boring job looks like one line item on a quote: drill the bore. The working system underneath it is five or six decisions made together: bore depth, pipe class, pump capacity, storage, and the electrical side that keeps the pump alive. Settle them before drilling and the job runs once. Settle them after and you pay twice.
What the crew checks before quoting
Bore depth in the Lahore area varies widely by locality, sometimes street to street, so no honest quote starts with a fixed number. Our boring crews assess depth on site. They look at the plot, ask about nearby working bores and how old they are, and check what neighbors are pumping from. An existing bore next door that ran shallow ten years ago is useful history, not a guarantee.
The site visit also settles access. A rig needs working room, and a tight urban plot changes the equipment and the price. Flag access constraints early, not on drilling day when the rig is already booked.
Where the budget actually goes
The bore is only part of the cost. Plan for the full chain:
- Pump capacity: sized to the depth the crew finds and the draw the building needs, not picked from a shelf. An undersized pump runs hot and dies early; an oversized one wastes money twice. Size the pump from the depth report first, then pick the model.
- Pipe class: the column pipe and delivery lines take continuous pressure for years. This is the wrong place to save. A failed column pipe means pulling the whole assembly back out of the ground.
- Storage tank: a tank sized to the household or facility lets the pump run in cycles instead of on every tap opening, which extends its life.
- Electrical protection: voltage fluctuation kills more pumps than wear does. A proper starter and protection unit costs a fraction of a replacement motor.
The sequence that avoids rework
- Site assessment and depth estimate by the crew
- Bore drilled and developed until the water runs clear
- Column pipe and pump installed and tested at depth
- Delivery line, storage tank, and float switch connected
- Electrical protection wired in before regular use begins
